In most cases, I would choose to use pc's browser to read hacknews. Maybe you can try my recommendations above to improve your reading experience.
thanks! here’s another Hacker News client made with Flutter from another dev that has a much better looking UI, but it is only available on FDroid. (though you can build it yourself for iOS):
I personnally prefer to use Glider for HackerNew [0] mostly because it is available from F-droid and the webview uses firefox and can be switched to the browser pretty seemlessly.
Writing from it now, it's pretty simple and has everything needed
