What does HackerNews think of lila?
♞ lichess.org: the forever free, adless and open source chess server ♞
Language:
Scala
That's the one and only server running https://github.com/lichess-org/lila, ie. the main scala JVM application.
See https://lichess.org/source for a list of all the services with a more-or-less up to date diagram.
Lichess has >300 contributors. Probably not all of them could take over the project, but probably some could if needed. It also accepts donations, so isn't an unpaid model (it's just designed to cover costs, not generate profits).
Thanks for the recommendation. I will check out Scala. Especially since https://github.com/lichess-org/lila is also written with Scala.
