Bluesky | https://blueskyweb.xyz/ | Full-time | Engineering | Remote, overlap with PST

Bluesky is building social network protocols. Our team has decades of combined experience building distributed applications, and we’re applying it to create a federated social network where users have more control.

• Open source protocol: https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto • Websites: https://blueskyweb.xyz/, https://atproto.com, https://bsky.app/

We’re looking for Go, Typescript, mobile, and web developers. Apply at https://blueskyweb.org/join.

Yes you can run your own PDS, but not federate. Federation hasn’t been completed yet but is expected to be done in the coming 1-2 weeks.

Go to https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto, clone it, build and run via the makefile.

There are already some instances running but as said they do not federate at the moment.

The waitlist is just for the app. We've been developing the protocol in a public repo on Github for months, but most people don't have the patience to follow open source code development, so we'll notify them when we can put a usable app in their hands.
