Comic Mono is great! I personally like Fantasque Sans just a little bit more though

I prefer Fantasque Sans Mono (https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans) myself, mostly due to its loop-less style variant, but any code that resembles an OpenBSD slide set looks instantly good to me...
Fantasque Sans Mono is similar in spirit and works great for coding too IMHO: https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans/ Don't knock it until you try it, it really looks nice for clean languages without a lot of symbols, operators or noise.
I like it a lot! Definitely in the camp of “comic sans is over-hated for poor reasons, and might even have legibility benefits for dyslexia”, and I considered a few comic sans inspired monospaced fonts before settling on Source Code Pro. The leaders were Fantasque (https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans/) and Comic Code (https://tosche.net/fonts/comic-code). (Comic Code’s creator actually links to the font you linked, Comic Mono, as an example of a free font with the same spirit!)

Ultimately I found that anything descended from or inspired by comic sans ended up a little too busy for my eyes.

Comic Neue has a monospaced font.

Edit: not comic neue, but related:

A little less zany but still fun font is https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans, previously known as Cosmic Sans Neue Mono.
I thought it would be silly or I would hate it, but the comic sans like nature of Fantasque Sans Mono really surprised me and worked well for coding/IDE use (especially in Python): https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans
While I really hope the claim that hating on Comic Sans being ableist is facetious, I do kinda like the font, and use Fantasque Sans[^1] in my terminal.

You can add my favourite font to that list:

Fantasque Sans Mono (zero clearly different): https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans

Highly recommend Fantasque Sans Mono for a realistic take on the "comic-style" coding font - https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans
I Completely agree! It is my daily driver font. Use it everywhere, great for shells too. And it's free

After trying a lot of fonts for hours and hours, I ended up with Fantasque Sans Mono: https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans

It's somewhat similar to Comic Sans, like the Comic Code from the article, but less playful. It's the most readable programming font I have ever had, with many other typefaces I often see text a little blurry.

Surprised to see Fantasque Sans Mono[1] not mentioned yet. It's the best "comic"-style font I was aware of, which I used for coding/terminal for a long time (I currently use Victor Mono[2]).
