What does HackerNews think of policies?

37signals policies, terms, and legal. Share them; reuse them; contribute to them.

Few options I’ve used.

1. legal zoom business advisory service which give you access to lawyers for free document review (under 10 pages) or 30 minute consultations with lawyers for about $40/month. I think they have a yearly plan that is even cheaper.

2. Rocker lawyer also provides free document reviews by lawyers for a yearly plan.

Both legal zoom and rocket lawyer were useful for TOS and privacy policy and occasionally review NDA, etc.

3. Base camp ToS and privacy policy are available online and free to use

Edit: fix typo

Basecamp has open-sourced their policies under CC BY 4.0, which means you can use those as long as you include the attribution: https://github.com/basecamp/policies

When/if you reach a certain scale, it will make sense to find a lawyer who can customize those policies for your business (or maybe even draft new ones).

This is very cool! Would love to see a set of template legal documents on there too someday, something like Basecamp's https://github.com/basecamp/policies
