What does HackerNews think of ant-design?

An enterprise-class UI design language and React UI library

Language: TypeScript

#10 in React
#20 in TypeScript
Half of gitea's contributors are from Europe. Wait until you learn how much "Chinese" code is in the Linux kernel these days.

This anti-Chinese hysteria is hilarious to watch from the sidelines, honestly. A few months ago there was a comment on HN by some American whose company was rewriting their frontend when they learned that antd (a React component toolkit) was developed by a Chinese company.

Ant Design is a very popular react UI library. I was searching for documentation, etc. about it and suddenly all links (via Google) have vanished. Their GitHub page (https://github.com/ant-design/ant-design) is gone without any redirect or notice. Eventually, I found a completely scrubbed Hacker news post (https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:N53eEy...) that was only in the Google cache, which pointed to where Antd is now -- https://gitee.com/ant-design/ant-design -- this seems to be on a Chinese competitor to GitHub.

Anyway this is all very weird and worrisome. I've been actively working to switch a large project over to Antd, and now I'm concerned that I may have made a bad choice of UI library. Does anybody know what is going on? A lot of discussion about Antd is in Chinese, so I don't have a clue, and of course I don't understand any of the potentially relevant politics.

Odd. It seems the Github repo for the project has also disappeared - although the top-level still exists.

https://github.com/ant-design/ant-design - missing

https://github.com/ant-design/ - still there

Thanks a lot!!!

Actually, for the website I relied heavily on antd ( https://github.com/ant-design/ant-design/ ) for the design. I cannot really say how long it took because it's always been developed alongise the backend.

Aaaand yes, I LOVE golang, even more after creating Notify17 using it. The clarity of that language is impressive.

Agreed! Also I'd add ant-design [1] and grommet [2] (it is not very active although it works very well)

Recharts seems to be from Alibaba. They also open sourced a very good UI framework ant design. https://github.com/ant-design/ant-design
