I’m 45, had dozens of interviews in the last 10 years, only one or two rejections and 5 jobs. I am a developer and haven’t had anything resembling a white board interview.

For the job I have now, I was hired as a developer but never actually had any development related questions besides asking about my previous projects and architectural decisions. I also don’t live anywhere near Silicon Valley and mostly worked at your standard Enterprise shops.
