Why do you trust some companies and not others? Joplin supports nextcloud and that's self hostable if you want full control.

I have a cryptographically verifiable backup tool with builtin history with git. With Nextcloud, drive, etc I have a bunch of unrelated files without a quick way to rollback, verify consistency, or ensure a clone is up to date.
